Gomez Announces 2008 Results
DETROIT March 25, 2009
Gomez, Inc., a leading provider of web application experience management services, today announced 44 percent year-over-year revenue growth for 2008. This achievement was powered by Gomez's strategic expansion of its suite of on-demand web performance testing and monitoring solutions, the addition of 400 new enterprise customers and partners, and a published report by a leading independent research firm stating that Gomez is "the leader in web experience management."
"In 2008 our continued delivery of the Gomez web experience management suite generated tangible market results, including strong customer and revenue growth, as well as significant recognition as the market leader," said CEO Jaime Ellertson. "Strategically, we continued to build out the largest physical web performance testing and monitoring network in the world, as well as expand our on-demand platform of services for testing web applications in development and monitoring them in production. Our vision, combined with our execution and strong business performance, was instrumental in several well-respected analysts recognizing Gomez for its market leadership and innovation."
In 2008 Gomez's success was highlighted by:
- Forty four percent annual revenue growth, from $32M in 2007 to $47M in 2008, and strong cash flow from operations. In 2008, Gomez added 400 new enterprise customers and partners, including Crate and Barrel, Intuit, Logitech International, Jet Blue Airways, Marriott International, Monster Worldwide, Neiman Marcus, Real Networks, Red Hat, Saks Fifth Avenue, Shutterfly, and Zazzle.com, bringing its total customer count to over 2,500.
- The expansion of the largest physical web performance testing and monitoring network in the world. Gomez doubled the number of Last Mile measurement points on its global network to 80,000 end-user desktop computers in 162 countries.
- Key advancements to the Gomez on-demand web experience management suite, which integrates web design testing, web performance load testing, web performance monitoring, and web performance benchmarking and optimization, including:
-
- A major self-service upgrade to Gomez's real-world load testing solution.
- An executive "dashboard" that correlates web performance with key business performance indicators such as revenue and user satisfaction.
- A new streaming media monitoring service.
- The publication of a report by Forrester Research, an independent research firm, which states that Gomez is in the "on fire category" and is "the leader in the web experience management market." Another leading analyst firm, Gartner, Inc., included Gomez in a list of "Cool Vendors" in a separate report.
"In addition to growth in our customer base and revenues, generating cash flow from operations this past year further reinforced Gomez's strong financial position, and enabled product development and network infrastructure investments," said Gomez CFO, Richard Darer.
