Quality Assurance Testing

Reality Load XF — Validate that your web application will work under real-world load

Gomez Reality Load XF™ is an on-demand load testing service that helps you understand the impact of system load on end-user experience by creating a real-world simulation of actual traffic conditions produced by your end users. Reality Load XF leverages the unique Active Last Mile XF peer panel, which consists of over 35,000 end user desktops around the world, to provide distributed load tests that accurately reproduce the network and latency characteristics encountered by real users in a live environment.

cross browser testing

Load testing is a critical part of the testing and validation process, and is an important final step before releasing new or changed applications to external users. Changes to operational infrastructure and Web applications are a necessary part of doing business, but often create unanticipated problems for end users. External load tests minimize this risk and should be performed each time a new application is deployed, or whenever an important change or upgrade has been made to the operational infrastructure. Testing under peak load conditions give organizations the assurance that customers will not be negatively impacted by a change.

Unique in the market today, Reality Load XF allows testing to be scheduled on-demand and allows companies to:

  • Select U.S.-based or global broadband end user profiles to generate loads
  • Compare performance under load to performance measured, under normal conditions
  • Test single URLs or multi-step business transactions that simulate real user activity on your website

The data from a Reality Load XF test will enable you to understand the impact of:

  • Application utilization
  • Geography
  • ISPs and connection speeds
  • Content Delivery Networks (CDNs)
  • Third-parties and partners

Reality Load XF tests can be scheduled in a matter of minutes and performed as often as you like, at the volume you select, and on the key activities that you choose. Plus, Reality Load XF tests are included under Gomez' flex pricing plans, which means that your routine monitoring and project-driven load testing are incorporated into one contract.

How RealityLoad XF Works

Reality Load XF leverages the Active Last Mile XF™ peer panel of over 35,000 desktops located across the world. To conduct a distributed load test:

  • Determine what Web pages or customer transaction paths you would like to test.
  • Select the profile you would like to generate the load.
  • Set the time when you want the test to run.

At the scheduled time, the load test will run and the summary results are presented in the portal. Detailed analysis can be conducted either within the portal, using the Active Last Mile XF charting capabilities, or by downloading the data from the portal.
